The Many Eras of Supercrime

The Greatest Band With The Greatest Name On Earth

Listen here

For over a decade, I've been in a band called Supercrime. I ask that people think of Supercrime as a band of criminals that steal from the rich and give to the people while keeping a little for themselves to keep the lights working. Supercrime seeks to be legendary like "Robin of Locksley" (what up 90s Kevin Cosner)!

Supercrime makes great music.

Era #1 of Supercrime

Many years ago, a few musicians in Austin, Texas, got together to start a new music project. This project needed a name, and after reading too many comics, I decided on a name that would make us sound as fearsome as villains with superpowers. I named us "Supercrime."

This project may have started strong, but eventually, the world got in the way before this gang of supercriminals could release anything. It remained an idea in my pretty little head until a few years later. That was when we created:

Era #2 of Supercrime

After gaining more experience from Benny Versus The Beast, Rob Holla and I thought we could take the Supercrime project even further and went even bigger than the first time. We started a full band this time. Bass, drums, guitars, vocals, and keys. Supercrime was all in.

We practiced for months, doing our best to perfect the style we were inventing. Amazing rap flows, songs about everything from being legends to terrible breakups. We were in there with songs like “The Perks of Being a Supervillain,” "Let It Break," "Xxxombii," and "Shame." We turned ourselves into a well-practiced band looking to tear down the walls surrounding the world! Unfortunately... the world was more powerful than us and got in the way again.

We never even got to play a show. We practiced for months. I made up a set list! Still, we weren't able to lock down a show before the band dissolved into a collection of great, but never used songs. We were a band that got too big in our living room practice space.

The Set List

That was a great time.

Era #3 of Supercrime

Almost a decade after the second era, after my return from Estonia, it was time to bring Supercrime back for what could be its last hurrah. The roster of this project had shrunk from five down to two It was me, Mike Dynamo, and one character from the second era now called Michey Tank Bank. He's the producer, I'm the vocalist (just like that classic Will Smith record).

All of 2024, we've tossed our schedules to the side, linked up, and made some great music. It took some time as all things do, but Supercrime is back once again! We've brought back some classics but jumped back in with a series of new beats and new rhymes in our new lives as divorced middle-aged men. It's honestly been one of the coolest projects of which I've ever been a part. It's not about how "good" it sounds. It's about the amount of work we were able to put into it in a world of job-like constraints.

Honestly, I love all of the musical work I've ever done from The Ali-ance to Hypnotic Fist Technique to Funan Beat Empire to Mike Dynamo to Supercrime. Everyone should listen to everything and tell me which they like the best. I make this music for the world as much as I make it for myself, and I would love it, if you would like to be a part of it.

And Then There Was One

Three eras of Supercrime, but only one Mike Dynamo (that's a me). Making music is how I make new friends. That's how I love to live my life. 2025 is going to be a heck of a year, particularly in the USA. I am not always sure I can handle it, but I'm well acquainted with how time works. This could be it, for all of us. So let's trust and value each other for as long as we can.

...and if that doesn't work, there are many, many billionaires we can decide to make a little less rich for our benefit. That's what Supercrime is all about, baby.

Supercrime choosing a billionaire that needs fewer billions…

Michael "Mike Dynamo" Bridgett Jr

Hi there, I’m Mike. While I would like to be a polymath, I don’t think I’ve made it there yet. So in the meantime, I’ll keep putting things out, and you can tell me what you think about me.

If you’re looking for me, type in “MikeDynamo” into any social media app and find me. As Peelander Z said, there are “so many mikes” but not very many Mike Dynamo’s.

So check me out.
