SOME THANKSGIVING ADVICE...
While we’re here let’s try to do our best!
Hello everyone, it's a me, Michael "Mike Dynamo" Bridgett Jr. Thank you, I was looking for ways to make my name longer and appreciate the work of now being known in public this way.
Regardless, today is Thanksgiving Day. For us over in the United States this is a longstanding holiday that involves missing school for three to five days, all the sweet potato pie (eff you, pumpkin pie) you can imagine, and an opportunity to remember how monstrous some of our ancestors were, or still are. For that, I'm truly sorry.
The only advice I have as a man who stared death in the face a few years back is to do your best to spend time with your family. It doesn't matter if you've always been a part of that family or you've been blessed to find another in the world (what up Cambodia!). You get a whole Thursday away from the office, home, or wherever people work to be with people you care about who care about you. Make the most of it.
I know many of us are attached to our phones. All day long we love seeing what the rest of the world is doing because gossip and drama are important. They feed us as they should. I'm not telling you whether this addiction we've formulated is good or bad, I'm just saying for today: Be present. Spend time with the people closest to you.
Meet your grandparents and ask them ridiculous questions they most assuredly have answers to since they've "seen it all." Talk to your parental figures about their lives since they've spent so much time trying to tell you EVERYTHING they've learned so you don't make the same mistakes. Too bad for them, you've already made the same mistakes, but it's nice for them to feel right today. Reach out to your old friends that you miss, not the ones you're better off without, and let them know how important they've been to you. Even if it's been a few weeks or 50 years, it's always nice to hear that you've mattered to anyone at any time.
These are the types of things that fly through my mind on occasion. I'm looking forward to spending sections of this Thanksgiving with my phone on silent. I'm going to do my best to spend time with my incredibly large and robust family... until everyone shoots off to watch sports. I don’t mess with sports like that, so maybe I'll finally see Dirty Dancing or Moana after that.
This is the photo of me singing during brain surgery I threaten to show people.
When cancer tries to take your mind away, you feel lucky to have anything... literally anything. My previous brain surgery could have taken away my ability to walk, or sing, or speak. As I often say, keeping my voice was where my head went when brain surgery was brought up. For the first time in my life, I didn't "need time to think" and spit facts at my Estonian Surgical Team. So rather than having YOU make the same mistakes I'VE made, I'm just giving you the only advice I have left:
Be there for your people because none of us will be here for very long.
So you go out there and have the best day with the people who love you the most. You accept the raisins in the potato salad. You make the best out of the food that's been provided. We can give our money over to our capitalist gods tomorrow. That's Black Friday. We go from a day of thanks to a Black Friday of spending money. My white supremacist-influenced mind sees how bad of an idea that is, but I'm just a little boy in a dangerous world who will keep laughing at the things that don't make sense. You're welcome to give that a shot if you like! So despite the amount of dryness in your turkey, I want to wish you a…
Happy Thanksgiving!

American Land Theft Celebration Day!
Whatever it is you like to call it.
